In the regular monthly meeting of the Spur Independent School District board of trustees July 29, Principal Jose Molina presented the board with the elementary report. Principal Tanya Phillips presented the secondary report, and Coach Tate Clark presented the athletics report.
Superintendent Craig Hamilton discussed with the board Taxable Value Audit for the school year. He also discussed: 2024 Certified Values for Dickens and Kent County; Excess Local Revenue Designation by Texas Education Agency; SHARS Cost report for 2022-2023; and STAAR testing results.
A motion was made by Pat Ortiz and seconded by Terri Wyatt to approve the consent agenda as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
In other action a motion was made by Casey Smith and seconded by Andrew Adams to approve the Tax Deed 468 as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Ortiz and seconded by Smith to approve the Spur ISD Employee Handbook for the 2024-2025 school year as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Adams and seconded by Wyatt to approve the 20242025 Spur ISD Attendance Procedures Handbook as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Ortiz and seconded by Roy Sanchez to approve the 2024-2025 T-Tess and TPess Appraisal calendar as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Smith and seconded by MattHumphreystoapprove the 2024-2025 Staff Development calendar as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Smith and seconded by Sanchez to approve the acceptance agreement from Allied Compliance Services, Inc. for both students and employees DOT Drug and Alcohol testing services for the 2024-2025 school year as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Ortiz and seconded by Wyatt to approve RMC of Texas (Risk Management Cooperative of Texas) for Spur ISD insurance provider for the 2024-2025 school year. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Adams and seconded by Smith to approve the Child Nutrition Procurement Procedures Manual as presented. The motion passed 6-0.
A motion was made by Humphreys and seconded by Smith to approve the Spur ISD Business Office Administrative Procedures Manual for 2024-2025 as presented. The motion passed 6-0.

Present for the board were President Roy Sanchez and board members Pat Ortiz, Andrew Adams, Terri Wyatt, Matt Humphreys and Casey Smith. Cody Schmidt was absent.
