PARADE JULY 4, FIREWORKS JULY 6
The Spur Volunteer Fire Department is once again planning an Independence Day fundraiser for Saturday, July 6, in Swenson Park. A fireworks display is slated for dark; festivities also include a hamburger/hot dog meal starting at 7 p.m., and a homemade ice cream contest sponsored by Dickens County–Spur Library ($10 to enter, $1 to taste and judge). Donations are needed to cover the cost of fireworks, according to fire chief Wess Abbott.
Also, on Thursday, July 4, the Spur Area Chamber of Commerce is planning a parade. Watch The Texas Spur for details.
