AFTON MEMORIAL DAY The Afton Cemetery Association will be holding a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at the Afton Cemetery. Please join us as we honor the military personnel who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. The annual meeting will be held immediately after the service.

GIRARD’S ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27 at the Chapel at the Girard Cemetery. Everyone is invited to come and share this day. Those who wish may bring cookies, brownies, or cake to share for refreshments after the programs. Water will be provided by Cap Rock Telephone.

DICKENS COUNTY-SPUR LIBRARY will host its collaborative summer reading program on Tuesdays beginning May 28 continuing June 4 and June 11, at 10 a.m. Elementary-age children are welcome to attend for fun programming and a chance to win prizes.

KENT COUNTY GOLF COURSE will host its annual Guys & Dolls Tournament, Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23.

JAYTON FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH is hosting a Navajo Nation Food Drive, June 26-30. Items needed are canned meat, canned corn, green beans, pinto beans, dried beans, and rice.

DICKENS COUNTY 4-H AND AGRI-LIFE EXTENSION SERVICE will host Sewing Day Camps on Tuesday, July 2, and Tuesday, July 16, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Both camps are open to the public for incoming third graders and older.
