COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS will be celebrated at McAdoo, Sunday, Dec. 8, 6 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in McAdoo. Come enjoy the celebration of Jesus’s birthday, fellowship, and good food. Bring a side dish or dessert or just show up.
DICKENS COUNTY CHILD WELFARE BOARD will be accepting gifts for the Dickens County Angel Tree. Gifts must be dropped off at Spur Security Bank from Monday, Dec. 2, through noon on Friday, Dec. 20. Please leave gifts unwrapped and put them in a plastic bag.
KENT COUNTY LIONS CLUB is partnering with the Bruce Long Food Pantry to ensure that holiday boxes are available for all their families. A $30 gift purchases a holiday box, but any donation amount is appreciated. The Lions Club will be accepting cash donations to the food pantry. These donations can be given to treasurer, Christy Long, at the Kent County Courthouse (or to any Lions club member).

SPUR VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT announces a fundraising benefit sponsored by Star Feed & Seed. Raffle tickets can be purchased in the store or by calling (806) 271-4532 with credit card or Venmo information. Drawing for the fisher fryer and shrimp boiler will be Saturday, Dec. 21.
