DICKENS COUNTY–SPUR LIBRARY story time, Thursdays, 10 a.m., for babies to preschool, 403 E. Hill St., Spur

KENT COUNTY EXTENSION AND 4-H Pistol and Rifle Safety Meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 19, 3:45 p.m., Jayton Community Center. This meeting will cover firearm safety and teach responsible handling and use to young people.

SPUR INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT mandatory cheer parent meeting for junior high and high school cheer candidates, Thursday, Feb. 20, 5:30 p.m.

POST ANTELOPE WASH N DRY is having a Ladies’Night, Thursday, Feb. 27, 7–9 p.m., 301 S. Broadway, Post. We are partnering with Winehouse 127, The Sassy Store, and Permanent Jewelry to provide free dryers, $4 glasses of wine, and permanent bracelets or personalized necklaces starting at $25.

POST AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE is hosting its annual fundraiser, Casino Night, Saturday, March 8, 7–10 p.m., Community Center, 129 West Main St., in Post. The evening will feature live music, catered food, beer and wine along with casino games. Tickets are $25 per person and can be reserved at the Chamber office until Tuesday, March 5. SAVE THE DATE for the Kent County Nursing Home “Jayton Idol”talent show, Friday, April 11, 6 p.m., school auditorium. Submit auditions to jaytonidol@gmail.com by Friday, Feb. 28, in order to compete for the $1,000 prize. There will also be items to be on during the fundraising event, with all proceeds helping the residents.
