Forty-three golfers showed up to participate in the fun last week and nine teams were formed. The weather was perfect, although there was not a breeze to be found!
The team of Floyd Starkey, Sue Starkey, Wes Joplin and Mike Day and the team of Donald Taylor, Crystal Hammonds, Tra Howell, Daniel Perez and Gene Everheart both came in tied at 5 under par and a score of 31. After a playoff, the Taylor team won with their birdie on Hole No. 1 to claim the 1st Place bragging rights for the week. The Starkey team took home the 2nd-place money.
The team of Andrew Bateman, Kayla Bateman, Lisa Shobert, Shane Shobert and Brice Bownds; the team of Eddie Clark, Lesli Clark, Russell Conrad, Dana Conrad and Andy Garcia; and the team of Landon White, Tyler Luke, Aubrey Luke, Austin Moreno and Don Kanenski all tied at 3 under par and a score of 33. The Conrad team took home the 3rdplace winnings after a scorecard playoff.
Time is quickly approaching for the 10th Annual Fat Daddy’s Scramble which will be held at SGA on Saturday, July 27. This is a 3-man, 18-hole scramble. Entry fee is $150 per team to participate, and tee off is at 9:30 a.m. Contact Tyler Luke at (806) 269-1606 for information.
All ladies are invited to participate in the 18th Annual Hot Mommas 3-person scramble, which will also be held on July 27 in Jayton at the Kent County Golf Course. Entry fee for Hot Mommas is $75 per person with tee off at 9 a.m. Contact Christy Long at (806) 789-4294 to get your team entered.
