Spur Golf News

We had another great evening for our weekly Tuesday Scramble, with 46 people coming out to participate. It excites me that our numbers have seemed to grow each week. I am here to tell you, these scrambles are fun!

Taking home the 1stplace bragging rights and money this week was the team of Tra Howell, Robert Daughtry, Wes Joplin, Tyler Luke and Aubrey Luke. They returned to the clubhouse at 6 under par and a score of 30. Way to go, team! Three teams returned to the clubhouse after the round tied at 5 under par and a score of 31. Members of the teams included Alejandro Diaz, Andy Daughtry, Gene Everheart, James Hughes and Kathy Hughes; the team of Daniel Perez, Mike Day, Jason Tanner, Shane Parsons and Charla Parsons; and, the team of Tate Clark, Jimmy Ashley, Brooke Reese, Russell Conrad and Dana Conrad.

It was determined that a playoff would be in order to break the tie. The playoff started on No. 1 with all teams making it in the hole for birdie. It was then decided that a chipoff would be needed. Tate Clark had the best chip at approximately 2½ feet from the hole for that team to take home the 2nd place prize money. The team of Perez, Day, Tanner, Parsons and Parsons had the next best chip to claim 3rd place. Congratulations to Jimmy Ashley for landing his drive on No. 8 within 9 feet of the cup to take home the money. No one landed their drive on the No. 1 hole so that money pot will roll over and keep on growing!

Thank you to everyone who came out to play and enjoy the beautiful weather! We will do it all over again next week.

Golf’in with Nanna Debbie Results. A good time was had by all at the Golf’in with Nanna Debbie Tournament. Money was raised in memory of Debbie Daughtry to fund a Spur Ex Student Association scholarship which is given each year to a graduating Senior.

Coming in to claim 1st place was the team of Landon White, Andy Daughtry, Vance Parsons and Taylor Riffe with their score of 63. The team of Justin Buck, Brandon Mc-Broom, Taylor Phillips and Robin Shuck and the team of Robert Daughtry, Gene Everheart, Tate Clark and Colton Rogers (not pictured) came in tied and took home the 2nd and 3rd place winnings.

Congratulations go to Kenzie Hale for winning the closest to the pin money and to Tate Clark for winning the longest drive money.
