Dickens 4-H represented at Youth Sheep and Goat Expo in San Angelo

Henry Chapman and Calvin Hays Chapman attended the Youth Sheep and Goat Expo in San Angelo on Saturday, Aug.16.

During the expo, Henry and Calvin Hays took part in sessions focused on wool judging, the new industry of solar grazing by the ASGA, retail identification of lamb cuts, and the challenging skill of delivering lambs in abnormal positions. These workshops provided them with valuable insights, allowing them to deepen their understanding of animal husbandry and of livestock evaluation.

In addition to the instructional sessions, both Henry and Calvin Hays participated in the Mock Sheep/Goat Skill-a-thon, an event aimed at preparing youth for the San Antonio Stock Show. Henry earned 3rd place in the Junior Division, while Calvin Hays placed 4th in the High School Division.

Respectfully submitted by Henry Chapman.
