Diezel Ramirez, valedictorian of Patton Springs High School, recently received a $20,000 scholarship from Texas 4-H and the Houston Livestock Show, recognizing his dedication and leadership. Ramirez’s nine-year involvement with 4-H included Food and Nutrition, Fashion and Interior Design, Swine, Rabbit, and Sheep projects. As club president and vice president, Ramirez led by example, fostering a collaborative environmentand inspiring peers.
The $20,000 scholarship acknowledges Ramirez’s hard work and will support his further education and community contributions. His outstanding academic performance and balanced participation in extracurricular activities highlight his exceptional time management skills.
He plans to use the scholarship to attend Texas Tech and major in predental and earn a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in nursing. Ramirez credits 4-H with teaching him many life skill lessons that will help him as he begins the next phase of his life and encourages all youngsters to join 4-H.
Lynndee Foster, Guthrie High School’s salutatorian, has demonstrated academic excellence and extraordinary community commitment through her involvement in 4-H. Recently, she earned a $20,000 scholarship from Texas 4-H and the San Antonio Stock Show.
A nine-year member of 4-H, Foster has pursued projects in Horse, Goat, Food and Nutrition, Horse Judging, and more. Her leadership is evident as Stock Show Princess and through her roles as vice president and secretary of her 4-H club.
This scholarship recognizes Foster’s relentless efforts and outstanding achievements, supporting her future educational and career goals. She plans to attend Texas Tech and major in ag business.
As Foster moves forward, her legacy in the 4-H community will endure, and she hopes to inspire other young people in Dickens County to join 4-H and follow her example.
