3 SCHOOLS’ CEREMONIES SET FOR MAY 24
Spur to graduate 21 seniors
Spur High School seniors will graduate Friday, May 24, 2019, at 7 p.m. in ceremonies at the school. Julie Beth Ferguson is the valedictorian, with a grade point average of 4.0. She is the daughter of Barry and Anji Ferguson of Spur. Her grandparents are Billie and the late Don Ferguson of McCaulley and Charlotte and the late Dwain Hudson of Spur. Her plans after high school include attending the social work program at Hardin-Simmons University. Olivia Rose Leary is the salutatorian, with a grade point average of 3.94. She is the daughter of Bob and Crystal Leary of Spur. Her grandparents are Richard and Luene McArthur and Joann Pergakis and the late Robert Leary of Spur. Her plans after high school include attending Texas Tech. Other seniors graduating are Kaylin Adams, Keaton Adams, Char Bradford, Desti Bradford, Kailyx Childers, Gage Cornett, Jadyn Duggan, Julie Ferguson, Hanna Gonzalez, Jeremy Jones, Savannah King, Olivia Leary, Codi Lester, Brianna Mathews, Bruno Mendez, Cameron Paschall, Ainslea Price, Isaiah Sanchez, Paden Shafer, Avery Tanner and Jake Weiser.
Five to earn diplomas from Patton Springs
Patton Springs will hold commencement ceremonies for its five seniors Friday, May 24, at 8 p.m. in the school’s gym. Valedictorian of the Patton Springs High School Class of 2019 is Brittney Jones, with a GPA of 92.8. She is the daughter of Stephen and Jill Jones of Dickens. Her grandparents are Dennis and Sue Jones of Afton. Her plans after high school include working during the summer, then attending South Plains College and applying to be a firefighter. Desiree Reyna is Class of 2019 salutatorian, with a 91.71 GPA. She is the daughter of Lori and Jose Sanchez of Afton. Her grandparents are Debbie and Ramon Cadena of Afton and Jesse Castro of Moore, OK. Her plans after high school include attending college. Other students in the 2019 Patton Springs graduating class are Brandy Campos, Brittany Campos and Leon Quilimaco.
Ten to graduate from Jayton
Jayton High School seniors will graduate Friday, May 24, at 8 p.m. in ceremonies at the school auditorium.
Abby Coulter is the valedictorian with a grade point average of 100.0192.
She is the daughter of Turney and Christy Coulter of Jay-ton. Her grandparents are Royce and Sharon Stanaland of Jayton and Grady and Dian Coulter of Blackwell.
Her plans after high school include attending a university to major in biology.
Hailey is the salutatorian, with a grade point average of 97.0.
She is the daughter of Justin and Toni Gibson of Jayton. Her grandparents are Brenda and Mac McDonald of Girard and Tim and Kathy Lisenbee of Jayton.
Her plans after high school include attending West Texas A&M to obtain a degree in agribusiness.
Other seniors graduating are Kaden Awe, Jared Cowen, Katie Fincher, Keldan Moor-head, Jadah Sallee, Julia Segura, Keeli Shipp and Katelyn Watson.
