The Jaybirds and Lady Jays were runners-pp last week at the District track meet in Hamlin, with a number of athletes qualifiying for the Area meet. The Area meet was set for Tuesday in Hamlin (results unavailable at press time).
Abigail Mosley finished 2nd in the 800m run; Reese Redford took 1st in the 400m dash; Sean Stanaland finished 1st in the 800m run; Tucker Scott took 2nd in the 800m run; Griff Reel finished 1st in the 400m dash.
In hurdles events, Hallie Humphries took 2nd in the 300m and Lauryn Rosa took 3rd in the 300.
In field events, Keera Awe finished 1st in discus; Garrison Allen took 2nd in discus; and Sophia Nino took 4th in shot put.
Jace Chisum finished 1st in pole vault, with Azriel Vargas taking 2nd in the event and Reese Redford finishing 3rd.
Colt Gentry finished 1st in high jump. Bode Ham finished 2nd in long jump and Brantley Ham took 3rd. Garrison Allen finished 2nd in discus. Tucker Scott finished 1st in pole vault; Cutter Lee 2nd; and Sean Stanaland 4th.
In the 4x100 relay, the team of Azriel Vargas, Sophia Nino, Kylea George and Remi Long took 4th place.
In the 4X100 relay the team of Griff Reel, Colt Gentry, Lorenzo Vargas and Bode Ham took 2nd place.
In the 800m relay the team of Sean Stanaland, Bode Ham, Colt Gentry and Lorenzo Vargas finished in 1st place.
Hallie Humphries took 2nd place the 100 hurdles. In the girls 1600m run, Jace Chisum finished 1st and Abigail Mosley finished 2nd.
In the boys1600m run, Tucker Scott finished 2nd and Ben Baldridge finished 4th.
1st place in the girls 4x400 relay went to the team of Reese Redford, Brantley Ham, Remi Long, and Jace Chisum, setting a new school record.
1st place in the boys 4x400 relay went to the team of Bode Ham, Sean Stanaland, Colt Gentry and Griff Reel, setting a new school record.
In the 3200m run, Jace Chisum finished 1st and Abigail Mosley 2nd. Ben Baldridge finished 2nd in the 3200m run.
