COMPILED FROM UNAPPROVED MINUTES
In a special meeting of the Jayton-Girard Independent School District board of trustees on July 29 the board reviewed and discussed the 2024-2025 budget as presented by Laci Scogin and Scott Bicknell.
A motion was made by Cody Stanaland and seconded by Steven Collins to approve the proposed tax rate based on certified values in Truth in Taxation, M&O $0.78920 and I&S $0.0000. All voted in favor, (5-0).
In a motion made by Steven Collins, seconded by Matt Herzog, the board voted to approve setting the board meeting date and time for the public hearing on the 2024-2025 budget and the proposed tax rate for Monday, August 26, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. All voted in favor, (5-0).
In a motion made by Andy Vargas and seconded by Matt Herzog, the board voted to approve setting the board meeting date and time for the adoption of the 2024-2025 budget and tax rate for Monday, August 26, 2024 at 6:45 p.m. All voted in favor, (5-0).
In a motion made by Steven Collins and seconded by Andy Vargas, the board voted to approve the budget amendment for the 20232024 school year. All voted in favor, (5-0).
The next regular board meeting is set for Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
Members present at the special meeting were Cody Scott, Matt Herzog, Cody Stanaland, Steven Collins and Andy Vargas. Members absent were Stephanie Allen and Jeff Arnold.
School officials present were Scott Bicknell, superintendent; Jamie Humphries, principal; and Laci Scogins, business manager.
