Pavement overlay begins this week on US Highway 82

An $11.3 million ACP (asphaltic concrete pavement) overlay project is set to begin on July 22 on US 82 in Dickens County. The overlay is designed to extend the life of the existing roadway surface.

The limits of the project are from just east of the Dickens city limits east to the King County line. During the project, drivers can expect various lane closures with minimal delays.

“Drivers are reminded to slow down and pay attention when traveling through the work zone,” said Munday Area Engineer Jared Groves. Drivers are also reminded that fines double in work zones when workers are present.

The anticipated completion date for the overlay is mid-January 2025, according to contractor A.L. Helmcamp.
