The Patton Springs Rangers were on the road last Thursday night, Oct. 25, to face the Motley County Matadors. After coming off of a disappointing loss against the Southland Eagles the previous week, the Rangers were hoping to bounce back for a chance to go 1-0 in their first district game of the season. The game kicked off with Motley County receiving the ball. Within two plays, the Matadors let everyone know that they were there to play. Senior Kyler Deagan (#6) took off for a 45-yard rushing touchdown. Shortly afterward, the Matadors put up another touchdown bringing the score to 14-0 early in the first quarter. The Rangers, looking for answers, found it in senior Leon Quilimaco (#11) who took home a 30-yard TD reception from freshman quarterback Ralph Garza (#21). The Matadors made a statement, holding the Rangers 69-6. The Rangers will line up against Silverton next Thursday, Nov. 1, hungry for their first district win.
