LESLI RUSH CLARK
it was most definitely a scorcher at 102 degrees for the weekly Tuesday night scramble. We were blessed to have 32 scramblers show up to participate and join in on the fun!
To my knowledge and recollection, I do not ever remember having four teams come back after the regular round tied and have to have a playoff or chipoff for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
The team of Bryan Beaty, Stephanie Beaty, Woodrow Stiewert and Ben Greene; the team of Mike Day, Janie Day, Kathy Hughes and James Hughes; the team of Floyd Starkey, Anthony Segura, Landon White and Aubrey Luke; and the team of Andrew Bateman, Kayla Bateman, Dana Conrad and Eddie Clark all returned to the clubhouse at 3 under par and a score of 33. It was determined that a chipoff would be in order on Hole No 6 to determine the winners of the week. Stephanie Beaty had an amazingly awesome close chip to the pin for that team to be the 1st-place winners. Way to go, Stephanie and team!
Taking home the 2ndplace bragging rights for the week was Mike Day and team.
The third-place winners last week were Floyd Starkey and team.
No one landed a drive on the No. 1 or No. 8 holes last week, so both of those money pots will roll and grow until someone does.
The SGA Club Championship will be held at the course on Saturday, Sept. 28. Tee off will be at 1 p.m. and is free to all members. There will be a meal provided following the round at approximately 5:30 p.m. with the annual member meeting to follow.
There are three board member positions that will be open to be elected on. Nominations will be accepted and voting will take place at the meeting. The voting will be by written ballot by those in attendance. Nomination forms will NOT be mailed out.
Please pray for rain. It is much needed across our area for our farmers, ranchers and golf course.
I hope you all have a blessed rest of your week. Make it count!
