There’s a new weekly newspaper in Spur, and it publishes every Friday. Spur schools have a student newspaper once more, thanks to teacher Myles Hammack and a group of student journalists.
Pat Hightower, who teaches third, fourth and fifth grade social studies at Spur Elementary School, has been awarded a $1,200 minigrant from the Community Foundation of West Texas for her classes.
According to information from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, this year’s dove forecast “brings us good tidings of another promising season.” Texas leads the nation in harvest numbers, with about 7 million doves harvested annually, the agency said.
Something that every rancher can do to prevent unnecessary discounts on beef carcasses is to try to prevent lesions on every animal.
