The room we have designated for the new children’s play area has now been completely cleared out and is ready for its renovations. This project is moving along at a great pace, and we are excited to see it taking shape step by step.

A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to participate in a West Texas peanut tour. The South Plains is home to a robust peanut industry. Texas is one of the largest peanut producing states in the nation.

In its two most recent meetings, a regular monthly meeting on Feb. 17 and an earlier special session, the City of Spur has had fairly light agendas to handle— but some tough issues on its hands.

Fifty years. One of my newspaper assignments this year has been Texas high school basketball, specifically two small schools in neighboring counties. I found myself this week on the campus of Abilene Christian University, where my parents met and fell in love.

Ragtown Gospel Theater revives musical “Jesus, Son of Man”

Local audiences will have another opportunity to experience the musical drama “Jesus, Son of Man” when it returns to the Ragtown stage in Post, March 7 through April 25.

Dickens County held its monthly meeting on Feb. 8, 2026, at the 4-H center in Dickens. We heard a presentation by Graden Allen from the TTU Meat Science Department about meat judging both in 4-H, and at the college level. He discussed some of the careers that kids who meat judge can enter.
