FLOMOT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT will host a fajita plate fundraiser Friday, June 12, 5 p.m., to benefit area firefighters, Flomot Community Center. Will deliver to Floydada, Matador, Quitaque, Silverton, and Turkey. Suggested donation for the beef or chicken fajitas plates is $15.

BARBARA BRANNON | TEXAS SPUR During an afternoon hearing June 8, 2026, Kent County commissioners voted unanimously to take the first step toward negotiation of terms with Crusoe AI for a proposed data center within the county.

STAFF REPORTS SNYDER— Western Texas College has named Jacob Walters and Timmi Lynne Hutchings as the new leadership team for its rodeo program. Walters will serve as the men’s head rodeo coach, and Hutchings will serve as the women’s head rodeo coach.
