Our library community extends its heartfelt sympathy to the family of longtime patron Marshall McGalliard, who passed away recently. Mr. McGalliard was a devoted and enthusiastic reader, and his presence in our library will be deeply missed.

Spur’s railroad origins honored in 2025 commemorative mug

Spur, Texas, was founded in 1909, when E.P. Swenson and partners bought the Spur Ranch, subdivided it, and brought the Burlington Railroad through. TheStamfordandNorthwestern Railway, part of the larger Burlington system, built a line northwest from Stamford, with the first train arriving Nov.
