While wintry precipitation exits Texas, freezing temperatures continued through Tuesday over much of the state. The storm kicked off Friday evening with freezing rain and sleet and temperatures plunged to single digits on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Jayton High School freshman Easton Bleiker has launched his own FM radio station, KTXC 92.9, broadcasting alternative rock and classic hits throughout town.

Spur, Texas, was founded in 1909, when E.P. Swenson and partners bought the Spur Ranch, subdivided it, and brought the Burlington Railroad through.
