102nd Annual Motley-Dickens Old Settlers Reunion and Rodeo, Aug. 28–30, seeks parade entrants

The 102nd Annual Motley-Dickens Old Settlers Reunion and Rodeo is coming together for August 28–30, 2025 in Roaring Springs. Old Settlers organizers invite businesses, organizations, families and individuals to sign up to participate in the parade, which will be Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025 at 10 a.m.

Spur resident drives pickup onto home property, strikes porch

BARBARA BRANNON | TEXAS SPUR Dickens County EMS and Sheriff’s Office, along with Texas DPS, responded to an emergency call in Spur about 9:45 Monday morning, Aug. 11, regarding the driver of a pickup truck on Hill Street striking a traffic sign and the corner of a house porch.
