Comptroller’s office announces monthly sales tax revenue total of $4.04B

AUSTIN —AUSTIN — Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.04 billion in June, 2.5 percent more than in June 2024. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.

No matter where we live, most of us love a good Tex-Mex dish. This one is a phenomenal go-to dish to put together on a busy weeknight. And it’s a big hit to serve for football-viewing parties or movie nights, too. I recall a tater tot recipe from my youth that was pure comfort food.

The Spur Senior Citizens Center, located at 210 Burlington Ave., serves a noon meal Tuesday through Thursday. The dining room is open, or if you feel more comfortable, we offer a curbside lunch you can reserve by calling (806) 271-4472. A donation is always appreciated.

Fire suppression and county safety were top of mind among commissioners and reporting agencies at Monday morning’s Dickens County commission meeting. One hot topic is the pending demolition of the old Wyatt Tractor building on Spur’s Burlington Avenue directly north of the new Spur fire station.
