STONE WALL Some of the last phases of the xeriscaping project in Rickels Park in downtown Spur were put in place last week, with large slabs from the Lueders quarry stacked as a privacy wall and windbreak, and installed at random elsewhere in the small park. 

Filings open for city councils, school boards across Texas Spur Country

The last day to file to run for the city councils of Spur, Jayton and Dickens is coming up February 14. The deadline is the same to run for the Spur and Jayton-Girard school boards. The only candidate in these races to file so far is David Warren, mayor of Dickens, who has filed for re-election.
