Larry Winkler and family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support after the passing of Mary Lou Winkler. Mary Lou was born in March 29, 1933, and died September 7, 2024. She was laid to rest at the Dickens Cemetery on September 11, 2024.

Charles Glenn Martin, d. 2024

Charles Glenn Martin was born in Wills Point, Texas. He married the love of his life, Janelle Martin, on February 14, 1991. God’s plan to unite Glenn and Nell created the greatest blessing of giving Glenn and his daughter Terri a forever family.

Martha Tom Smith Thomason

Martha Tom Smith Thomason was born on June 7, 1938, to Arlie Boyd Smith and Liga Esthaleen “Estha” Holloway Smith, in Dickens County, Texas. Her sister Arlita Carol was born one year later on June 7, 1939.

Dr. Randall Glen Griffin

Dr. Randall Glen Griffin, age 65, a well-known, highly respected dentist, devoted husband, and beloved “daddy,” passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, September 12, 2024. This remarkable man, in the latter years of his life, bravely faced the challenges of frontotemporal dementia.

Barbara Jean Shaw, 1940–2024

Barbara Jean Shaw was born on May 17, 1940, to Oma Clay and Velma (Gunnels) Clay in Spur, Texas. She passed away at the age of 84 on August 13, 2024, in Aspermont, Texas. Jean attended school in Dickens and married Dennis Shaw on September 5, 1959.

Billie Ray James, 1928–2024

Billie Ray James, 95, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, July 10, 2024, at his home in Spur. He was born in Dickens County, Texas, on Aug. 14, 1928, to Ivy York James and Jeff Henry James. Bill grew up in a large family. He was a hard worker and enjoyed playing sports, especially football.

Kathy Ann Hurst White, 1944–2024

KathyAnnHurstWhite ran into the arms of Jesus on July 2, 2024. Born September 20, 1944, in small-town Spur, Texas, Kathy Ann Hurst White was the daughter of Red (Marion Clinton) and Bernice Marie Justice Hurst.

Roy Moore, 1949–2024

Roy Dale “Snuffy” Moore died unexpectedly June 11, 2024 at the UMC Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 74. He was born on Oct. 2, 1949 in Spur, Texas, to Thed D. and Cora Moore. He married Shirley Lynn Smith in 1970. They were married 21 years and had two daughters before divorcing.

Jackie Eugene Conaway, 1961–2024

Jackie Eugene Conaway, 63, of Spur, Texas passed away June 6, 2024, in Spur. Jackie was born on January 13, 1961, to Donald Joe Conaway, Sr., and Joann Conaway in Arrington, Texas. He attended and graduated from Patton Springs ISD.

Leanora Maude Cannon Houwen, 1939–2023
