G.L. Hamilton, Jr. of Jayton, Texas, passed away on January 11, 2025.
G.L. Hamilton, Jr. was born on July 26, 1946. His parents were Gordon and Thelma Hamilton. G.L. was 78 at the time of his death.
G.L. was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Hamilton. G.L. is survived by wife,Donna Hamilton, of Jayton; son Patrick Hamilton and wife, Melissa, of Plains, Texas; daughter Tracie Martin and husband Craig of Abilene, Texas; sister LaJuana Ross and Richard of Fort Worth, Texas; sister-inlaw Patricia Hamilton of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren Taya Hamilton of Cross Plains, Texas, Kaley Dolan and John of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tyler Martin of Lone Tree, Colorado, Cooper Hamilton of San Angelo, Texas, and Sawyer Hamilton of Plains, Texas.
G.L. worked alongside his father as a heavy equipment operator. He also helped start up and run a saltwater disposal trucking company and served as an oilfield pumper.
G.L. made a positive impact on Jayton and Kent County. He served on the Jayton school board. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Jayton. He also served on the tax board.
G.L. especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He frequently traveled to watch his grandkids participate in their many activities. He was faithful in cheering for the Jayton Jaybirds. He also loved traveling to Colorado.
The memorial service for G.L. Hamilton will be held at First Baptist Church of Jayton at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
