Patton Springs is the overall district champion in local high school tennis, based last on last week’s updated team results from the HS District tennis meet.
ADAMS HONORED Tess Adams, a senior has Spur High School, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from H.E.B. for her participation in FCCLA over the last four years.
In last Friday’s district track meet at Jayton, the Lady Jays finished in 3rd place, behind Spur and Guthrie. Friday’s unrelenting dust-filled winds never let up, increasing the challenges of the district meet, but female tracksters persevered as the lead changed several times among the three 5-1A teams at the top.
4-H FASHION WINNER Lainey Baldridge competed in the District 3 4-H Fashion Show in Graham this past weekend. She won 1st place in the Intermediate Everyday Living Construction category and won the Natural Fiber Award.
KENT CLEANUP County Judge Jim White and Jayton city councilman Jake Edwards were a part of the Lions Club team helping with the Little League clean up event Saturday in Jayton.
