From kitchen to ammunition, Dickens County 4-H participants master a variety of skills

At their last meeting, Dickens County Club members assembled 87 cobbler kits for the Spur Food Bank. The kits consisted of a cake mix, pie filling and a recipe to make a cobbler. Due to generous donations from the community many citizens of Dickens County will have a sweet treat for Thanksgiving.

On Nov. 7, 2025, Spur traveled to Lorenzo to play the last district football game of the season. The Bulldogs came up short, but the Bulldogs fought the entire game. Spur began the game on defense. The Bulldogs started strong by stopping the Hornets on downs. The town battled up and down the field.

Jayton girls finish 6th in State cross country; Chisum takes silver

Among the competitors in Texas UIL State cross country Division I on Friday, Oct. 31, in Round Rock, the Lady Jays finished 6th among 16 teams, with a total score of 148. Jace Chisum, a senior, took the silver medal for 2nd place with an individual time of 11:54.
