Kent County Lions resumed activities and planning at their January 12 meeting, with a report by Jayton-Girard ISD interim superintendent Nelson Coulter. He commented on recent athletics and academic activities and also noted that work was going forward on plans for the baseball-softball complex.

State-ranked Valley overcame a feisty first-quarter Spur Bulldogs defense to take a 69-16 district win January 17 in District 8-A basketball action. For the first eight minutes of Spur’s game against Valley, the Bulldogs put some bite into their much taller opponents.
