Bulldogs fall to Petersburg Buffaloes in district play

Spur traveled to Petersburg Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, for the third game of varsity district football. The Bulldogs came up short, 34-58. The Bulldogs received the ball to begin the game. The Buffaloes kicked it deep to #11 Slay Wheeler, who ran 14 yards before being tackled.

Jaybirds leaning on internal competition for improvement

Early in the season the Jayton Jaybirds do everything they can to play stiff competition, even if it means driving several hours to meet a team on a Saturday, but once district starts your schedule is set for you, even if the competition is a bit lighter.

Tuesday Scramble Recap, October 14. This was our last week to play regular golf. We will start playing all holes as a par 3 (150 yards) since the sun isn’t out as late anymore due to the upcoming time change. Twenty players showed up ready to play some golf, and five teams were formed.

The Jayton Jaybirds traveled to Paint Creek Thursday night and opened District play with a bang, defeating the Paint Creek Pirates 63-8. The usual performers were on display as the crowd watched Bode Ham go for 78 yards on the ground with Lorenzo Vargas adding 52 more.

Tuesday Scramble Recap, October 7: It was perfect weather to play some golf! We decided to switch things up and played every hole as a par 3. Twenty-three players showed up ready to play some golf, and five teams were formed. There was a three-way tie for second place.
