The Spur Junior High and High School Bulldogs and Spurettes competed in the Silver Spur Cross Country meet on Wednesday, which Spur hosted at Swenson Park. It was a hot one, but everyone pushed through and ran well. SPUR YEARBOOK STAFF Spur faced Ira Friday September 5, 2025 at Jones Stadium. Although the outcome was not what we wanted, the Spur Bulldogs fought the fight. Spur won the toss electing to receive the ball to start the first half. Ira kicked an onside kick to #9 Jaxon Bateman.

Jayton’s Jaybird high school cross country teams competed in their first meet of the season last week in Haskell. The girls finished 1st and the boys finished 2nd. Jace Chisum finished in 1st place for the girls.

Never before in the history of JGISD has there been a school year like 2024-25. That incredible success has been officially recognized by Texas UIL with the naming of Jayton as the #1 1A School in the State of Texas – making the school the winners of the prestigious 1A Lone Star Cup Award.

The Spur Bulldogs traveled to Wellman-Union Aug. 28 for their opening game of the 2025 season. Although the outcome was not what the visiting team wanted, the Bulldogs played hard. The Bulldogs won the toss and chose to receive.
