Dickens 4-H Pins and Needles Sewing Club holds fashion day camp in Lubbock

The Pins and Needles Sewing Club, sponsored by Dickens County 4-H,l held a Fashion Day Camp last week in Lubbock. The group’s first stop was the Ronald McDonald House, to take all of the can tabs and toiletries the club had collected all year to help in the charity’s fund-raising efforts.

Jaybirds win inaugural Loraine 6 on 6 Classic

The Jayton Jaybirds took home the victory in the inaugural Loraine 6 on 6 Classic, 44-20, last Saturday. Jayton struck quickly in the championship game, scoring on the second play of the game via an 18-yard touchdown pass.

Jayton earns honors at the State FFA Convention last week

At the Texas FFA State Convention in Fort Worth last week, when the Agriscience Fair results were announced, for the third year in a row Jayton qualified for Nationals. In Animal Science: Division 6, Colt Gentry and Jace Chisum were State Champions and National Qualifiers.
