Jaybirds split games in March 13 Jonesboro tourney

Both teams were strong on the bump last Thursday, but the Jayton varsity Jaybirds defeated Jonesboro 3-1 in game 2 of the tournament. Sean Stanaland started the game for Jaybirds and recorded 11 outs.

Jayton, Spur advance to Bi-District in OAP competition

Jayton and Spur One Act Play companies were each selected to advance to Bi-District at the District One Act Play meets. Jayton competed earlier this month at District in Aspermont. They were selected by judges as the first place advancing team with their play, 'Peter and the Starcatcher.

The Jayton Jaybirds are back-to-back State champions this season after traveling to San Antonio’s Alamodome last Thursday to compete in the UIL Class 1A Division 2 State Final game against the Bryson Cowboys.
