Yarborough,
1943–2026
Wilbur Lee Yarborough, better known as Lee, 83, of Hobbs, N.M., passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, 2026. Born in Lamesa Texas, on May 11,1943, Lee grew up in Spur, Texas, and lived a life full of love that was spent with family and friends.
As a master diesel mechanic for many years, he enjoyed his off time with family, tinkering in his shop, watching westerns, and going western dancing.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents James Hardy and Catherine Bonnie; his late wife, Rita, brother Tom, sisters Jonell and Shirley, daughters Sheila and Jami, and Mack the bulldog.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen; granddaughters Emily and Amber, grandson Travis, and nieces Teena and Tiffany; and many great-grandchildren, cousins, other family and friends. Lee will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be at Chapel of Hope in Hobbs on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Services will be graveside at Prairie Haven Memorial Park in Hobbs on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 at 10 a.m.
