In the regular monthly meeting of the Patton Springs Independent School District Board of Trustees on December 5, superintendent Bryan White provided documentation concerning the process of hiring an interim superintendent and/or delegation to perform duties required of a superintendent.

State Sales Tax Revenue Totaled $4.1 Billion in December

( AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.06 billion in December, 3.2 percent more than in December 2022. The majority of December sales tax revenue is based on sales made in November and remitted to the agency in December.

Spur woman dead after rollover Christmas night

A woman from Spur is dead after a crash just south of Dickens Christmas night. Just after 9 p.m., crews were called to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 70 near CR 360, about two miles south of Dickens. DPS officials say 42-year-old Christie Ann Pecina was driving north toward Dickens.

Property tax cuts go into effect

AUSTIN— A total of $18 billion in property tax cuts were approved by more than 80% of voters in the November general election and should be reflected in property tax bills that are due by Jan. 31.
