Spur secretary Carothers to leave; city council continues to deal with variance questions

The City of Spur has met three times in recent weeks, with the news coming in an April 23 called meeting that city secretary Ashley Carothers, who has been employed at city hall for six and a half years in two different capacities, will be leaving due to family and personal reasons.

When childhood ends

My granddaughters are soon to be home for summer. With only a dance recital on June 3 and a commuter basketball camp, the girls are set for some carefree time with their parents. One more round of swimming lessons, and they will be good to go for pool time.

JGISD board discusses lawsuit, approves funds for capital improvements

More than 18,000 cattle killed in Dimmitt explosion

What is being called the deadliest barn fire for cattle on record left more than 18,000 cattle dead and one worker critically injured at a dairy farm in the Texas Panhandle, The Dallas Morning News reported.
