Abbott issues disaster declaration, seeks fed help

AUSTIN—Gov. Greg Abbot has issued a disaster declaration for Texas counties affected by the early February ice storm and is seeking a federal declaration as well for areas in Southeast Texas affected by rare January tornadoes.

Ice storm wreaks havoc in much of state

TXDOT to close Highway 208 starting Feb. 6 for 12 months

The road from Spur to Clairemont in Kent County will be closed for bridge repairs, effective Monday, Feb. 6, said Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson for the Abilene Division Alaisha Montoya in comments to The Texas Spur.
