Spur raises tap fees, adopts animal control measures

In its regular monthly meeting of Tuesday, Sept. 22, Spur City Council handled a lengthy agenda, which included revised ordinances regarding utility tap fees and animal control, in about an hour and a half. Personnel matters on the agenda were postponed until a special meeting of Sept.

Spur Area Chamber elects officers, sets event dates

Some familiar events and familiar faces will be returning to this fall’s Spur Area Chamber of Commerce, along with one newcomer to the organization’s board of directors. At its regular monthly meeting Monday, Sept. 19, members held elections for its upcoming slate of officers.

Not born to be queen

Of course, a history teacher is going to write about Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. Even if you are not a monarchist, a fan of royalty history, or a Corgi lover (as was the Queen) the story of her ascension to the most enduring throne in the world is a once-in-a-lifetime story.
