Star Feed and Seed Big Buck Contest underway

A hunting tradition kicking off every November for more than two decades will soon be underway once more—Star Feed & Seed of Spur’s annual Big Buck Contest. Star Feed & Seed's Big Buck Contest is open to all licensed hunters who hunt in Dickens County and the eight surrounding counties.

City of Spur to open bids for trash service Nov. 7; SOS to continue until new contract secured

According to Spur city secretary Ashley Carothers, SOS Waste Company has agreed to leave their garbage collection containers in place in the city until a new company takes over. The firm last month informed the city it was canceling service as of Oct. 31, and the city began researching alternatives.
