Memorial Day observance slated for Girard May 25

Kent County’s annual Memorial Day program will be held at the Girard Cemetery Chapel Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., sponsored by the Ma’ams and Grams Club. This event is to honor the brave soldiers and sailors who sacrificed their lives fighting in wars.

The City of Spur would like to remind all residents who are planning to move a mobile home into the city limits, that there is a required process to followed. A permit must be obtained in accordance with Ordinance #585 before any mobile home is moved in or installed.

Amanda Spiva, extension agent, took six members to Amarillo for the District 3 Horse Judging Competition. Maddee Foster competed as a senior and placed 6th overall and 5th in reasons. Intermediate Paisley Smith placed 2nd overall and 5th in reasons The junior team won 1st place team!
