Clara Jean Martin, 87, of Jayton, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sept. 17, 2019. She was born Feb. 4, 1932, to Jimmy and Maggie (Willis) Eddins in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Priscilla Wood Neaves 1945-2019

Priscilla Wood Neaves, a United Methodist minister and hospital chaplain, died in Spur, Texas on Aug. 30, 2019. She struggled with cortical neurodegenerative disease in recent years.

Doc Dwayne Edwards 1936-2019

Doc Dwayne Edwards passed away in his home surrounded by his family, Aug. 31, 2019. Doc was born April 5, 1936, in Dickens County to Clay Edwards and Robbie Wyatt Edwards. He was a graduate of Patton Springs schools in Afton, where he excelled in FFA activities and sports.

Donna Sue Thompson Major

Donna Sue Thompson Major of Kerrville, Texas passed away Aug. 21, 2019, at the age of 83. She was born in Gilpin, Texas on March 5, 1936, to Earnest and Vera Thomas. She graduated from Jayton High School and married Kenneth Thompson in 1953 in Spur, Texas. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Nancy Cathey, 66, of San Angelo, formerly of Abilene, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at her home. Visitation was held on August 7 at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. Services were held August 8 at the Brown Ranch Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. She was born Nancy Fletcher on Nov.

Alpha Grice 1932-2019

Alpha Grice, 86, passed away Aug. 5, 2019, in Glade-water, Texas. A celebration of life was held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Jayton; Pastor Jake Edwards officiated. Burial was in the Jayton Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Bobbie Maye Young Grantham Brewster Mahaffey 1929-2019

Bobbie Maye Young Grantham Brewster Mahaffey, 89, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019. Bobbie was born on Nov. 1, 1929 in Spur to Garner Young and Tressie Hienze Young. Bobbie grew up in the Redhill Community and graduated from Spur High School in 1947.
