It was not the start that Spur coach Colton Rogers wanted, but the Spur Spurettes finished strong in their 63-20 bi-district win over the O’Donnell Lady Eagles Feb. 16. “We had a slow first half offensively, but I was very proud of that second-half defensive effort,” Rogers said.

SUE JANE SULLIVAN | TEXAS SPUR After district wins over Rule and Rotan, the Jayton Jaybirds boys basketball team will finish District 15 play against Aspermont Feb. 17. The Jayton junior varsity squad defeated Rule varsity 76-8 on Feb. 3, and the Yellowhammers fell to Jayton Feb.

The Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) released its 20262028 realignment for football, basketball and volleyball on Monday, Feb. 3. The realignment saw a significant change to the districts of Spur and Jayton.
