Bulldogs crush Antelopes 60-12 before Homecoming crowd

On its home field Friday night, the Spur Bulldogs came home to a near-capacity homecoming crowd and raced past the Whiteface Antelopes, with the mercy rule kicking in early in the third quarter.

Lubbock Book Festival draws readers, writers from around region Sept. 25–26

Last weekend’s Lubbock Book Festival turned out steady crowds on two pleasant fall days for events indoors and out at the Lubbock Mahon Public Library.

Jayton offense explodes on Peterburg

The Jayton Jaybirds traveled to take on the Petersburg Buffaloes last Friday night. The Jaybirds knew that their offense would have to score points early and often, looking to continue their undefeated season.

Spur XC competes at Mae Simmons in Lubbock

The Spur girls’ and boys’ cross country teams competed last week at the Mae Simmons meet in Lubbock. The girls missed out on 1st by 5 places. The boys finished in 4th place. Spur will host our Silver Spur XC meet starting Wednesday, Sept. 29.

Gamma Eta chapters kicks off new year with Sept. meeting

The Gamma Eta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held its first meeting of the 2021 school year at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021. Twelve members and two guests were present.

Rangers lose Homecoming heartbreaker to Cowboys

The Patton Springs Rangers celebrated their homecoming last Friday night, hosting the Woodson Cowboys. With the Rangers coming off of several tough losses over the past few weeks, they would come out ready to show out and defend their turf.

Bulldogs clip O’Donnell’s wings in lopsided victory

The Bulldogs put another win away Friday by smashing the Screaming Eagles of O’Donnell 62–28. Fans knew the Dawgs were something special during this game when #7 Nicholas Ortiz picked off the Eagles’ pass on their first drive on the Spur 4-yard line and returned the ball to the O’Donnell 44.
