Jayton stuns Valley in Stanaland showdown

The Jayton Jaybirds faced their toughest test of the season to date when they hosted the Valley Patriots last Friday. Valley, a Division 1 team that expects to play football deep into the playoffs, came to town to mobilize the Jayton offense.

Spur welcomes all to National Night Out in Swenson Park Oct. 5

Continuing a tradition of several years in Spur, the Spur Area Chamber of Commerce invites community members of all ages and neighborhoods to a free picnic dinner in Swenson Park Tues., October 5, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m. Hot dogs with all the fixins will be served at the Pavillion.

Spur XC finishes 3rd at Canadian meet

The Spur varsity cross country teams competed in Canadian on Saturday. The varsity girls finished 3rd ,behind Wellington and Canadian. The varsity boys finished 3rd, behind Perryton and Canadian.

Spur prevails 75–51 in slugfest at White Deer

The Bulldogs Revenge Season began in earnest Sept. 17 during a slugfest in White Deer, who beat the Dawgs last season 40 to 64. After a delay waiting for the officials to show up, the Bucks won the coin toss and elected to receive, but the Bulldog defense held them to 3 and out.

SEA OF SUPPORTERS Spur’s Jones Stadium was packed in blue Friday night as the Bulldogs, ranked #14 in the state in Division 1, Six-Man, 1A, hosted the Motley County Matadors, ranked #1 in the state in Division 2, Six-Man, 1A.
