The Patton Springs Rangers traveled to Matador last Thursday night, October 14, to face off against the number one six-man football team in the state. The Rangers would come out, though small in number, big in heart, while the Motley County Matadors would do their part to defend the home front.

With temperatures expected to dip into the thirties Friday night, bundled-up Spur Bulldogs fans barely had time to wrap up in their blankets before the hometown team had punched three touchdowns into the end zone.

Bulldogs outlast Wildcats 68–60 in first district game

Spur’s Bulldogs (4–1) began district play last Friday in a nail-biter versus the Crowell Wildcats (0–4) at Dick Todd Field in Crowell. SixManFootball.com had picked the Bulldogs to mercyrule the Wildcats. But a total of 168 total points scored by both teams made that a pipe dream.

Jaybirds remain unbeaten over Eagles

The Jayton Jaybirds began their district season against the Southland Eagles last Thursday night in a home matchup. Jayton entered the season with a few unknowns. Losing key seniors the previous year meant that new faces would have to step up and make a difference.

Jaybirds beat Lions 64-22 for Homecoming victory

A huge crowd gathered for homecoming festivities at Jaybird Stadium to see the Jayton Jaybirds play the Roby Lions. This Jayton squad, led by senior quarterback Joel Williams and senior spread back Carson Sessums, has found a firm footing in their non-district schedule against solid opponents.

Spur JV, JH victorious over Whiteface

Spur’s Junior Varsity Bulldogs defeated Whiteface 45-34. Erik Molina and Haden Howell had multiple touch downs. Haden Howell also made several tackles to carry the defensive load. The JH Bullpups also beat Whiteface, 43-41. Margarito Pesina had several touchdowns as well as Jagger Zarate.
