Four teams in the hunt for three playoff slots

There’s a whole lot of boys’ basketball left to play in district 5-1A between now and February 12. If you freeze frame the action where it is at press time, however, Paducah has sole possession of first place with an undefeated record of 6-0 and Jayton is right behind them in second at 5-1.

Spur business students Adams, Martin, advance to state competition

Two students from Spur High School Business Professionals of America competed in the Regional Leadership Conference on Saturday, Jan. 23. Tessah Adams won 1st place in the Advanced Word Processing event, and Tristen Martin won 1st place in the Presentation Management Individual event.

District title on the line Friday night in Spur

It all comes down to Friday night in Spur. The Spur Spurettes will host the Guthrie Lady Jaguars, and assuming that both teams take care of business Tuesday night, the district championship will be Friday night, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Domes.

Gamma Eta teachers enjoy armchair travelogue of Israel trip

The Gamma Eta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held its first meeting of 2021 on January 11 by Zoom. Twelve members joined the online meeting. Members were greeted by Cristy McClenny of Lindale, Tex., and the program was presented by Donna Anderson of Lubbock.
