Dragons beat Jaybirds in Jayton

Friday night was no ordinary Friday night in Jayton. The 8th-in-the-state ranked Jayton Jaybirds boys’ basketball team was hosting the #10 in state Paducah Dragons.

Unranked Spurettes ‘upset’ #4 Guthrie

Last Monday, Jan. 18, the Texas Girls Coaches Association released their weekly poll, and the Guthrie Lady Jaguars were ranked number four in 1A in the state. The next night, Tuesday, Jan.

The Spur Bulldog boys’ varsity basketball team lost a close game last Tuesday on the road at Guthrie by a score of 56–54. The Bulldogs rebounded Friday night with a win over Patton Springs 44–41 and brought their district standings to 2–2. They are tied for third place.

JAYTON IN PLAYOFF HUNT

Dickens County livestock show coming up this weekend

Dickens County 4-H and FFA members have a few more days to prepare their animals for the 2021 Dickens County Junior Livestock Show, will be held at the Spur Exhibition Barn in Spur’s Swenson Park Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22–23.

Spur Senior Citizens

The Spur Senior Center is proud to say we will be offering curbside service once again stating Monday, January 18. Along with the curbside we will offer a Chef Salad Plate to go for $5; you can come in from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and make your own selections for your salad.

Spur Elementary School posts 3rd 6 weeks honor rolls
