Bulldog enter bye week focused on Knox City

The Spur Bulldogs traveled Friday night to Vernon Northside, where they wrecked the Indians’ homecoming 60– 12 by halftime. It was a one-sided effort that was never really in doubt. The Bulldogs were faster and more physical from start to finish. Spur had 10 possessions on the night.

Spur ISD posts 1st 6 weeks honor rolls

The following students enrolled in Spur ISD earned “A” Honor Roll for the 1st 6 weeks of the 2020–21 school year. Third grade: Zaivree Childers, Paisley Smith, Summer Smith, Allie Weiser Fourth grade: Squire Jennings, Aubrey Luke. Fifth grade: Jaxon Bateman, Kaden Bateman, Wade McGalliard.

Patton Springs ISD honors Students of the Month for September

Last month Patton Springs honored two Students of the Month. Representing the Elementary level, Adrian Quilimaco is a 5th grader and is the grandson of Roy and Benita Moreno of Matador. In his spare time Adrian enjoys coloring and playing outside.

Wildcat offense too much for banged-up Bulldogs

We are all aware of how the Covid-19 pandemic has changed high school sports this year. Masks, distancing and quarantines are an unpleasant reality that simply has to be endured. But not all teams endure it the same way.

Bulldogs win provides momentum for district play

“It was a big deal, even if it wasn’t against one of the top teams; just the fact that you’ve got to get some momentum somewhere.” That was the perspective of Spur coach Tate Clark following the Spur Bulldogs’ dismantling of the Whiteface Antelopes 48–0 Friday night in Whiteface.

Spur XC teams top relays

In the Silver Spur Relays held Oct. 3 at Spur, the Spur High School girls were team champions, with six medalists (places 2nd through 15th).

Jaybirds tame Roby Lions

As the harvest moon rose over Roby, Texas, last Friday night, the Jayton Jaybirds looked to add to their winning ways against the Lions. Roby hosted Jayton on their Senior Night as they fielded a capacity crowd.

Spur ISD receives Superior Achievement Rating in FIRST

A special public hearing was held before the September meeting of the Spur Independent School District. Business manager Jodi Gonzalez presented the board with Spur ISD receiving a Superior Achievement Rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST rating).
