District 3 AgriLife offers Teen Tuesday Talks via Zoom

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, District 3, has launched a series of online for Teen Tuesday Talks to learn about and discuss the following life skill topics. Programs are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Spur Bulldogs travel to Motley Co. Friday night

The Spur football teams were back at practice Tuesday morning, after being quarantined for two weeks due to Covid-19. Friday night, they travel to Matador to take on the Division 2, six-man state runner-up from 2019, the Motley County Matadors. The Matadors have gotten off to a rocky start in 2020.

Ira Bulldogs fall to late Jaybird surge

Jayton fans were excited to gather at Jaybird Stadium last Thursday for their season opener against the Ira Bulldogs. Going into the season, there was no doubt that senior running back Pecos Smith would be unquestioned leader of the team.

Lake Alan Henry GOOD. Water clear 84 degrees; 1.67’ low. Black bass are good fishing steep rock shorelines and timber coming shallower to around 16-23 feet of water on Jigs, spinners, and spoons. Crappie are good on jigs in timber and cover. Catfish are fair on live bait, cut bait, and stinkbait.

Bryn Arnold of Spur wins Achievement Scholarship from Houston stock show

Bryn Arnold, a 2018 graduate of Spur High School beginning her third year at Texas Tech University as a senior, is among 98 Texas college students recently awarded Livestock Show and Rodeo Achievement Scholarship, according to parents Reid and Betsy Arnold of Spur.
