The Jayton cross country teams had a great day in Abilene Saturday with competition from schools of all sizes. They were the only 1A team at the meet, competing with schools through 6A.
The Spur junior varsity and junior high football squads traveled to Aspermont last Thursday, and though they didn’t come out with a win, the Bullpups and Bulldogs showed improvements and fought on the field.
Spur met up with Aspermont at their home field at Jones Stadium for the week three matchup on September 13. The Spur Bulldogs came out with the win, 72-32, making them 3-0 for the preseason.
In their second meet of the season, all the girls improved their times on a more difficult course. Olivia Ortiz earned a medal, with a 14:41 time for 24th place.
Spur JV played Ira on Thursday, Sept. 5 at Jones Stadium in Spur. It was a beautiful night for football. Although Spur did not come out on top, they played a great game.
