The Spur Senior Citizens Center, located at 210 Burlington Ave., will be serving a noon meal Monday through Friday. The dining room is open, or if you feel more comfortable during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering a curbside lunch you can reserve by calling (806) 271-4472. A donation is always appreciated. The cost for seniors over 60 is $4; everyone else is always welcome, for $8.
High School Students are invited to apply to Big Country Electric Cooperative’s Youth Tour scholarship contest, and be eligible to win one of three $3,000 scholarships. Originally the prize for this contest was a trip to Washington, D.C., on the Youth Tour, but due to safety concerns about the Covid pandemic the trip has been cancelled.
AS SEEN ON TV On the new CBS All Access series, “Texas 6: Made in Strawn,” Jayton figures predominantly in the first episode as Coach Dewaine Lee and the Strawn Greyhounds travel to the Jayton Gridiron Classic to take on the Borden Coyotes. This documentary series follows Strawn throughout their 2019 season as they attempt a “threepeat” of state championships.
